EN71 is a set of European product safety standards that applies to all kids product like toy, kids furniture sold in the European Union. EN71, which is also a part of the CE directive, has been put in place to ensure that all kids products especially toys sold in the EU meet safety standard. So once the products get EN71 certification, it means products meet EU safe standard and we can make CE logo in products or packages.
Almost all products placed on the market for the purpose of play for children under 14 years of age fall within the scope. However, the person placing the product on the market is not free to do so: products that entice children to play can also fall under the Toys Directive. However, most sports equipment and leisure articles are not affected.
